1.Pipelines should not be buried in hard-to-maintain areas without adequate safety measures. If burial is mandatory, provide leak detection, corrosion protection and hazardous fluid collection.

2.Manual valves on pipelines within safety partitions shall have extended stems for operation outside blast barriers.

3.Such pipelines shall not be installed in accessible trenches.

4.Discharge points shall feed closed systems, not sewers or open atmosphere.
